Dory Sky

This is one of the photos in my library that I love and hate all at the same time.  I be completely honest with you, I made a huge mistake when I shot it.  You may think it looks great now and really I think it does look good.  This boat was spinning rather fast in the Cape Cod breeze that night.  I was changing locations and had my back to the raft as walked through the shin deep water and tidal mud.  For a reason I cannot explain I turned around and looked back, the dory was spinning into this position under an amazing sky. I had to act fast.  I planted my tripod in the mud and fired away.  When I shoot Landscapes I shoot full on manual.  Well I knew a great picture was coming my way and I panicked.  I forgot to check my settings and fired my shot.  Later when reviewing my photos I found this one, severely under exposed, even for a raw image.  I tried fixing it in post and it turns out the digital version you see here looks ok but, It just won’t print.  There is way too much unfixable digital noise.  If I can’t make a print, well, the picture isn’t worth much to me.  It is nice to look at on a computer screen though.
