Anything can grow in good light, that stands true for photographs too. As I was scanning through my photos from the trip I notice this one, not because it had some overpowering subject matter but quite the opposite. It is a patch of wild clovers growing on a felled redwood in the founders grove. Not one of the clovers really stands out, and even the whole of the patch isn’t that exciting. What caught me though was the light. The clovers were just there to catch it. The light is the true subject of this photo, even before it hits the undergrowth it subtlety illuminates the floating pollens in the forests air.
